ASDA Pre-Lit Christmas Trees
Asda is recalling more than 10,000 of its own brand pre-lit christmas trees due to a potentially lethal fault with the lights. It has also withdrawn a further 50,000 trees from the shelves & warehouse. The plastic trees come in three colours and are priced between £15 and £27. A spokesman for Asda said that four customers had returned the trees with smashed bulbs exposing the elements which would cause a "nasty" electrical shock if touched when the tree was plugged into the mains. Customers will be offered a full refund.
The affected trees are: Asda Pre-Lit Pine Christmas Tree 6ft £15; Asda Pre-Lit Black Christmas Tree 6ft £27; Asda Pre-Lit Christmas Tree 6ft £27.
